What is the purpose of internal (i.e. by schools) reporting in the compulsory years in your state/territory?

In the compulsory years, schools report internally four times a year, with at least two of them being in writing. The purpose is parental information and feedback for students. Such reports are used by students when transferring across schools and across systems.

Commencing from this year, end of Year 10 certificates will also be reported internally. Schools are planning to provide grades or points out of 20 or a level in terms of continua of outcomes or a combination of these, for each learning area.

What is the purpose of external (i.e. by systems/Board/Council) reporting in the compulsory years in your state/territory? (if any)

There will be no external reporting at the end of the compulsory years of schooling from this year. This function of the Board in the past has been devolved to schools. Schools will provide reports (Year 10 Certificates) to mark the completion of the compulsory years of schooling, based on work completed in Year 10.
