Which document(s) lists the subjects/courses studied in Years 11 and/or 12?

The Record of Achievement is the transcript of a student’s Stage 1 and Stage 2 results and the studies undertaken, that can be counted towards completion of the SACE requirements. The Record of Achievement is regularly updated and issued at times determined by the Board. The Record of Achievement is issued in December.

What advice is given relating to tertiary selection?

The Tertiary Entrance Statement is printed on a separate document and issued to students by the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC). The statement shows information relevant to university and TAFE entrance, including:

  • scaled scores, which are calculated, using a scaling procedure, for all Stage 2 subjects
  • the university aggregate, which is calculated by totalling the scaled scores of three 20-credit Tertiary Admissions Subjects (TAS subjects), plus the best outcome from the flexible option, which can come from
    either:
    • the score from another 20-credit TAS or Recognised Studies subject
      or
    • any two of the following:
      • half the score of a 20-credit TAS or Recognised Studies subject
      • the score of a 10-credit TAS or Recognised Studies subject
      • the score of another 10-credit TAS or Recognised Studies subject
  • the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), which is derived from the university aggregate and reported as a number between 0 and 99.95
  • the TAFE SA Selection Score, which is calculated by:
    • totalling the tertiary admission points for the student’s best three full-year Stage 2 subjects, or
    • 50 credits of TAS and 10 credits of Recognised Studies subjects, or
    • 40 credits of TAS and 20 credits of Recognised Studies subjects.

    The score is reported as a number between 0 and 60.

The Tertiary Entrance Statement has the imprimatur of all three South Australian universities and TAFE, and carries their logos.
